Photography Policies

Thank you for choosing ONYX Photography.

The following policies have been created to ensure every booking runs as smoothly as possible. They outline everything from payments and cancellations through to gallery delivery, so you know exactly what to expect before, during and after your session or event.

Photography Style

My photography focuses on capturing genuine moments, natural interactions and the atmosphere of your session or event. While I’m always happy to accommodate specific requests and must have photographs, my approach is relaxed and story driven, creating a gallery that reflects your experience as it naturally unfolded.

My goal is to provide a relaxed, enjoyable experience where you can simply be present and enjoy the moment. Whether we’re capturing a family session, a special celebration or your business, I’m here to make the experience feel easy, natural and enjoyable from beginning to end.

Securing Your Booking

Your booking is confirmed once your invoice has been paid in accordance with the payment terms provided. Photography bookings reserve a dedicated date and time, therefore bookings cannot be held until payment has been received.

Payment

Payment terms vary depending on the type of photography booking. The terms will always be outlined in your provided invoice.

Portrait, Branding & Lifestyle Photography

Full payment is required prior to your session.

Event Photography

Full payment is required prior to your event.

Where a split payment arrangement has been approved and agreed upon, the remaining balance must be paid no later than five (5) business days before the event. If payment has not been received by the due date, ONYX Photography reserves the right to release the booking. Final galleries will not be delivered until payment has been received in full.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your booking, please let me know as soon as possible.

Photography bookings reserve a dedicated date and time that is often unable to be rebooked at short notice. For this reason, cancellation fees or forfeiture of payments may apply.

Rescheduling

Life happens, and sometimes plans change. If you need to reschedule due to illness, unforeseen circumstances or poor weather (where applicable), every effort will be made to find a new date that suits both parties.

During Your Session or Event

Every session and event is unique. While every effort is made to capture important moments, photography is candid by nature and specific images cannot be guaranteed. If there are particular people, moments or group photographs that are especially important to you, please let me know before your session or event begins.

Image Editing

All images are professionally edited in my signature style. RAW or unedited images are not supplied. Editing requests outside of my standard editing style may incur an additional fee. To protect the integrity of my work, images supplied by ONYX Photography must not be altered, filtered or re edited without prior written permission.

Gallery Delivery

Your photographs will be delivered via a private online gallery within the timeframe outlined in your invoice or booking confirmation. Each gallery includes a carefully curated collection of the best images captured throughout your session or event.

Image Usage

ONYX Photography retains the copyright of all photographs. Clients are welcome to download, print and share their images for personal use. Images must not be altered, heavily edited or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

Portfolio & Social Media

I love sharing my work and celebrating the wonderful people and businesses I photograph.

From time to time, selected images may be featured on the ONYX Photography website, social media platforms or within promotional material. If you would prefer your images remain private, please let me know before your session or event.

Travel

Travel within the agreed service area is included where specified on your invoice. Travel outside this area may incur an additional fee, which will always be discussed prior to confirming your booking. Travel requirements are generally taken into consideration when preparing your personalised quote, so there are no unexpected costs.

Late Arrivals

If your session begins later than the scheduled start time due to client delays, the session may be shortened to ensure the agreed finish time is maintained.

Additional Coverage

Should you wish to extend photography coverage during your event, additional time may be available depending on photographer availability. Additional coverage will be charged at the applicable hourly rate.

Client Cooperation

The best photographs are created when everyone feels relaxed and enjoys the experience. While every effort is made to capture important moments, ONYX Photography cannot be held responsible for missed photographs due to guest availability, venue restrictions, weather conditions, poor lighting, late arrivals, schedule changes or circumstances outside of reasonable control.

Planning & Communication

Every photography booking includes reasonable planning and communication via email or phone to ensure your session or event runs smoothly.

Should you request an in person meeting, venue walkthrough, location visit or scheduled video consultation outside of standard booking requirements, this can absolutely be arranged and may be quoted separately depending on the time and travel involved.
